Considerações sobre a questão da dívida pública

Abstract

In this study we, initially, discuss how a series of results derived by Simonsen (1984) in the context of the external debt problem can easily be adapted for the public debt question. Then, some basic public finance statistics are used in the application of those results in order to emphasize the potential difficulties faced by that sector in Brazil.
