Participação feminina no mercado de trabalho brasileiro: evolução e determinantes
Abstract
Recently, many researches have tried to gain a better understanding of the Brazilian labor market, using microdata from PNAD, PME and other sources. In the present paper, we examine the evolution of women labor force participation in the labor market between 1982 and 1997. The results point to a significant increase in female participation rates, mainly among the women with between 1 and 11 years of schooling. The main determinants of this increase in activity levels were the reduction of the share of less educated women in the labor force and arises in the participation rates of spouses and older females.Downloads
