A quantitative study of implicit subsidies on Brazilian family farming credit program

The paper makes a detailed measure of the costs associated with subsidies to loans from the National Program for Strengthening Family Farming (PRONAF). Thus, critically examines the issue of costs, direct and indirect, associated with the initiative to provide cheap credit to a specific segment of the rural people. It concludes with an assessment that highlights the high level of subsidies involved in. It also discusses some indicators for assessing the benefits of the program and impact assessment.
