International and inter-regional productive insertion: an analysis from the global value chains

Abstract

This study analyzes the productive integration in the context of international and inter-regional fragmentation of production from trade flows of Bahia and the rest of Brazil. We have used an inter-regional input-output table for Bahia and the rest of Brazil, calibrated to 2009, considering 27 economic activities. The results allowed us to identify the domestic value added on exports of both regions and to understand economic integration in the context of the production restructuring and vertical specialization.
