Uma análise da estrutura do desemprego e da inatividade no Brasil metropolitano

Abstract

This paperís main objective is to deepen the analysis of unemployment in Brazil. Complementing studies which analyze the question in an aggregate fashion, we investigate the incidence of unemployment across different socioeconomic characteristics of the population. Following a revision of stylized facts found in previous researches, we adopt a multinomial logit regression model methodology, the results of which are used in evaluating the marginal effects of socioeconomic characteristics upon probabilities, both of unemployment and of inactivity of the Brazilian population.
