Abstract

This article aims to evaluate the impacts of special education and social inclusion policies, and to make an analysis, for the years 1991, 2000 and 2010, of the educational and employment trajectory of people with disabilities. As an empirical strategy, seven equations were estimated using the ordinary least squares and logit ordered methods, based on data from the 1991, 2000 and 2010 IBGE demographic censuses. There has been evidence that such policies have a positive impact on school attendance, literacy, educational level, age-grade distortion of people with disabilities. In addition, there were also positive results in the labor market for individuals with disabilities.
