A relação entre freqüência escolar e renda familiar no Brasil — 1981-1999
Abstract
This paper exploits the changes in the income distribution in the period 1981 to 1999 to determine, using IV-estimates, if there is a causal relationship between family income and school attendance for children in compulsory school age in Brazil. No significant causal link was found when a homogeneous income effec across groups was assumed, but a significant income effect emerged for the poorest income group when the effect of family income on school attendance was allowed to vary between income quartile groups.Downloads
