Ajuste estrutural e agricultura na década de 80: uma abordagem de equilíbrio geral

Abstract

The effects of the early Eighties external shocks on Brazilian agriculture are analysed through a multisectoral applied general equilibrium model designed to deal with agricultural policy. The model is disaggregated into 28 activities. 1t was calibrated for the year 1980, and run for the 1980/85 period. In the simulation, external financial flows were maintained at the level observed in 1980. Results showed that the macroeconomic environment produced important impacts in the agricultural sector in the 1980s. The fall in external financial flows benefitted agricultural exports, due to the structural adjustment.
