Mercado de trabalho não-regulamentado: participação relativa e diferenciais de salários

Abstract

This paper investigates empirically the role of workers' skills in the determination of the wage gap between workers with formal or informal labor contracts, and of the incidence of informal labor contracts. It assumes the existence of labor market segmentation and analyzes the effect of the distribution of skills on the size of informal sector and wage gap among Brazilian metropolitan areas. It also analyzes the wage gap and the incidence of the informal labor contracts among heterogeneous groups of the workers.
