Abstract

The translog cost function is utilized to estimate the price and price cross elasticities of the production's factors' demand for coffee growing in Minas Gerais. The purpose of this research is to study the changes in the technological behavior of coffee growing as relating to the existing relationships in the productive resources market. The econometric results show that there is a substitution among resource in the resource market. The inputs are more utilized as the land becomes scarce, and the use of labor and inputs are intensified as the capital becomes a restrictive resource.
