Mudanças estruturais reais nas matrizes de insumo-produto: Brasil - 1980/85

Abstract

This article discusses the interpretation of the structural change indexes calculated on the basis of the coefficients tables of an input-output model. The purpose of the article is to show that this model is sufficient in the identification and hierarchical placing of structural changes but does not allow, per se, the identification of the causes for such changes. A few aspects of the comparison of constant price tables are also discussed. Finally, the article searches to render compatible the 1980 and 1985 input-output tables, provides a calculation on a 1985 table at 1980 prices, and also provides real change indicators between these two years.
