Do capital humano ao salário-eficiência: uma aplicação para analisar os diferenciais de salários em cinco ramos manufatureiros da Grande São Paulo
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyze the reasons for wages differentials in five manufacturing branches of the Greater Sao Paulo - Communication and Electronics, Transport Material, Chemicals, Furniture, Leather and Furs - in 1987. The theoretical approaches were given by the human capital, labor market segmentation and efficiency-wage theories. The empirical procedure was an estimation of five earnings functions, one for each manufacturing branch, based on a sample composed of about 3000 individually disaggregated observations proceeded from Rais (Relação Anual de Informações Sociais ). The variables associated with labor supply were statistically significant for all branches and the results were also consistent with the labor market segmentation theories and the efficiency-wage theories.Downloads
