Abstract

An alternative method for interindustrial analysis is presented and the Brazilian matrix for 1975 is analysed. Strong vertical and horizontal complexes, growth poles and leading propulsive activities are determined (agriculture, rolled steel, metalurgy, chemicals and construction). The method of digraphs can be used both on national and regional levels; it provides the intersectorial linkages, both intermediary and total, supplementing the method of Rasmussen-Jones, which determines only the final interaction among the sectors. The study concludes that the method is malleable and useful, and sectors linked to agriculture are very important in integrating of Brazilian economy.
