A produtividade total dos fatores de produção na indústria brasileira: 1970/83

Abstract

In this study we investigate the pattern of total factor productivity (TFP) in Brazilian manufacturing during the period 1970,'83. The rate of change for the TFP was decomposed in the components technical change, economies of scale and capital utilization. The parameters of the production technology required' for such a decomposition were obtained by estimating a translog production function. The climates were obtained for both the whole manufacturing industry and its 21 sectors.
