Demanda derivada de energia no transporte de passageiros

Abstract

Models for the demand of both energy in the passenger transportation sector and vehicle ownership are developed. The models specification includes variables related to wages, population, production and geographical characteristic of Brazilian counties. The results allow calculation of income elasticities and consumption shares of each income group for both energy in individual passenger transportation and vehicle ownership. Policy implications of the results are discussed.
