Abstract

The relationship between metropolitan industrial restructuring and long term technological change is conceptually explored, to achieve a better understanding of the underlying mechanisms that determine the Process of restructuring, and its implications for metropolitan planning. Long term metropolitan charge is first explored through a general stages framework that considers population size, migration, and sectoral employ meant distribution in services and manufacturing.
