Estrutura da proteção efetiva no Brasil: 1985

Abstract

This paper presents estimates for effective protection rates in Brazil in 1985, which were obtained after a comparison on between domestic and international prices. The data base for the estimates is a sample of 1710 (pairs of) prices informed directly by the firms after a mail inquiry,. Additional distinguishing features of this work are: a) the use of the most recent (1975) input-outpnt matrix; b) more desaggregated estimates; and c) a more sophisticated method to deal with non-tradable inputs.
