Efeitos das políticas econômicas brasileiras sobre o setor doméstico de soja em grão

Abstract

The overall objective of this paper is to evaluate the final result of the interactions between the price distortions created by the Brazilian economic policies that acted (directly and indirectly) over the domestic raw soybean sector during the 1977/83 period. For that purpose, two international trade tools, the nominal rate of protection and the effective rate of protection were used. In order to take into consideration in the analysis the significant influence of the Brazilian exports on the international price of soybeans and its derivatives, an important metodological procedure was developed which is seen as one of the main contributions of this study. The utilized methodology provided a transparent view of the government structure of intervention evaluating the final effect of the set of policies and identifying the individual participation of the adopted measures in the final effect produced.
