Produto Interno Bruto trimestral: bases metodológicas e estimativas

Abstract

The paper seeks to contribute to the solution of an important problem of the National Accounts in Brazil, namely, the inexistence of statistical information on agregate production for periods shorter then the year. For ire calculation presented here, the real PIS was decomposed in agriculture (divided up, in its turn, in crops and animal production), industry, and services (commerce and transportation). The agregate series for the PIB presents estimates from the first quarter of 1973 through the end of 1986.
