O sistema de condicionalidades do FMI: uma proposta de reforma

Abstract

The paper presents a reform Proposal for the conditionality system of the IMF stabilization programs. It begins with a synthetic description of the "financial exercises'' underlying such Programs. Next it explores some frequent deviations and makes a criticism of the contractionary bias embedded in cur-rent analytical procedures. Finally, the author offers alternative proposals to deal with such difficulties in future stabilization programs with a growth content.
