A importância da estrutura familiar e do engajamento no mercado de trabalho na determinação da pobreza no Brasil

Abstract

This paper uses microsimulation techniques to evaluate how different would be the incidence and the intensity of poverty if family size, labor force participation and the unemployment rate were the same in poor and nonpoor families. Our results are that the impact occurs fundamentally when unemployment differences are eliminated. The results of this paper are more expressive than those found in previous studies.
