Abstract

This article seeks to analyze whether students from different fields of study enrolled in private colleges, that had come from private or public high schools, presented different dropout behavior if they received or not the Fundo de Financiamento Estudantil (Fies) or the Programa Universidade para Todos (Prouni). Therefore, it is used the data from the Censo da Educação Superior from 2010 to 2016 and data from 2010´s IGC. Also, it is applied the Survival Analysis method. Individuals that came from private schools drop out less than those than came from public. However, after the students start to receive Fies or Prouni, the students that dropped out less were the one that received some financial aid from these programs, independently of the kind of school that they studied during high school.
